- Tree size and height : Larger trees and those exceeding 15 metres require specialized equipment, additional crew members, and longer work time. A mature Manitoba maple or green ash will cost more to remove or trim than a smaller ornamental species.
- Location and accessibility : Trees close to your house, garage, fence or power lines demand extra care and planning. Difficult access (narrow back lanes, river lots with steep banks, or heavy clay soil) may require specialized equipment or multiple visits.
- Species and health : Dutch elm disease assessment, emerald ash borer evaluation, and disease-specific removal carry their own costs. A diseased or storm-damaged tree may be more hazardous to remove and therefore require additional precautions.
- Debris removal and disposal : Wood chipping, stump grinding, and full site clean-up add to the total. If you want mulch left on-site or wood chipped for removal, that affects the final price.
- Urgency and timing : Storm damage or a tree threatening your home may require 24/7 emergency removal. Emergency calls are prioritized and may incur additional fees beyond standard rates.

A small tree in an open yard may be removed in a few hours for a base cost, while a large tree near your roof, power lines, or a neighbour's property requires rigging, careful lowering, and sometimes a crane. Species matters too: a dead ash is often simpler than a healthy oak with a dense crown. Each tree is assessed individually.
What's included in a free estimate?

Yes. Stump grinding starts from $125 and is priced separately from tree removal. If you want the stump ground as part of the same job, we can bundle the work. The depth of the grind and the stump size affect the final cost.
What if my tree is near Manitoba Hydro lines?
